Popular attractions we can visit
- Walk around West Lake (2–3 hours) — the classic
Hangzhou experience: a lakeside stroll past the Su Causeway, Broken Bridge and
willow-lined shores that inspired a thousand years of Chinese poetry.
- Cruise on West Lake (about 1 hour) — a boat ride out
to the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon islet, the famous scene printed on the
¥1 bill, with the best panoramic views of the lake and hills.
- Leifeng Tower (1–1.5 hours) — the rebuilt
pagoda from the Legend of the White Snake, overlooking the south shore; come near
sunset for golden views over the whole lake.
- Lingyin Temple (2–3 hours) — one of China's
oldest and most important Buddhist temples, set in a forested valley next to the
Feilai Peak grottoes with centuries-old rock carvings.
- Longjing Village (2–3 hours) — the home of
China's most famous green tea: walk through hillside tea fields and taste fresh
Longjing in a tea farmer's courtyard.
- West Lake light show (about 1 hour, evening) —
"Enduring Memories of Hangzhou", a music, fountain and light performance on the
lake itself; a relaxing way to end a full day.
- Xixi Wetland (half day) — a national wetland park
of quiet waterways, reed marshes and old villages, best explored by boat; a
completely different side of Hangzhou away from the crowds.
- Zhejiang Museum (1.5–2 hours) — the
province's main museum, with celadon ceramics, ancient bronzes and the story of
the region from the Hemudu culture to today.
